二十年前，科索沃山邊的庫許村，一場殘酷的大屠殺奪走了當(dāng)?shù)卦S多男性的生命，至今仍有不少人下落不明。獨力照顧兩個孩子和老丈人的法莉一肩扛起家中生計，在丈夫失蹤多年后，她決定和鎮(zhèn)上一群有著相似境遇的婦女們一起創(chuàng)業(yè)，靠著自制的美味紅椒醬爭取經(jīng)濟獨立。在這民風(fēng)保守、充滿父權(quán)意識形態(tài)的厭女社會，不懷好意的小鎮(zhèn)居民總在背后閑言閑語，甚至惡行相向。揣懷著丈夫驟然消逝留下的情感真空，法莉是否能夠堅持信念，與伙伴們一起實踐自我、尋找繼續(xù)活下去的意義？
